Post Hard to turn wheels out of reverse

Hey everyone, I'm new to this board. I just had to join now that I got my '97 Z28 in Black yeeeaaahhhh lol. Ok anyway, here's my problem I'm very new to working with these new engines. I was used to working with the older, classic, easier, room to stick your hands in cars. I just recently started about 2 days ago to have trouble turning the wheel when I get my car out of my driveway. Is it the powersteering pump? Seems like it comparing it to the older cars but I just want to make sure. Parts aren't cheap. Anway, after I pull out of the driveway and put it back into drive that's where most of the time it is extremely hard to turn the wheel. I check the powersteering fluid and it's full. I did notice some oil being spread around when it hits a pully and gets splashed to the sides. I'm trying to track it down. I don't htink it's the oil from the A/C compressor. I already had that problem. Wierd thing is that it only does it when I first turn on the car for the day. Did it once when I went out to lunch and used reverse again. Highway or city driving it steers okay and it's easy to turn the wheel.

Any idea's for a rookie? I sure as hell don't want to take it in to a dealer. They already messed itup when they jacked it from the wrong spots. Idiots. Thanks in advance to those that help a new guy out.

I'm surprised no one responded yet to your post, but it sound to me like the oil thats being sprayed around when you first start is getting on the belt and causing it to slip. If your belt is slipping then your power steering pump is not turning at full speed thus causing it to be harder to turn. If you don't think that its the power steering system then I would bet this. Especialy if it only does it when first started.
