Hard to start when cold

My car had a cold starting problem that I thought had to do with the vats cause the light was on. I fixed the vats with the bypass but that didnt fix the starting problem i'm having. When the car is cold like in the morning or after sitting half a day the engine will not start like normal. I have to crank the engine for about 30-45 seconds. sometimes the engine trys to start but doesnt till awhile of cranking. I changed the fuel pump, filter.

Does anyone have any possible causes for this problem?

I would check the fuel pressure and specifically for leakdown. Might also want to check the vacuum line from the fpr for raw fuel. If you allow the fuel pump to prime a couple times before trying to fire it up and if it fires up will also help show its a leakdown issue.

Re: Hard to start when cold

You could have leaking injectors ... next time you start the car up hold the gas pedal to the floor
Turn the key and see if it cranks faster
