i have a hard start problem, i thought it was the fuel pump and still havent gauged the thing to see but i really doubt thats what it is. i have spark its bright blue and strong just like it should be. i checked the fuel pressure regualtor, the coil is ok or i wouldnt have spark. car runs rough for a few seconds after startup but then settles out into a smooth idle just like always. plugs are all new less than 10k miles on them. fuel filter has been changed. car runs like a bat out of hell after it gets running. i've also changed the fuel pump relay that didnt help. it seems to me if it was the opti i'd have rough idle all the time or break up at higher rpm which isnt the case. it SOMETIMES and i mean rarely will stumble just off idle but it wont die or anything like that. i've checked everything i can think of besides an injector and the fuel psi.

the only things i can think of is the map sensor, or the tps, or the oil pressure safety switch since that controls the fuel pump in the case of a relay failure. once again hard start and tempermental stumble is the only things showing up as of now. when its hotter than hell in the car it seems to start right up and run fine, but then it has the stumble. i'm about to burn the car to the ground here, i'm at the edge of my patience.

 

alright i did some more checking fuel pump sounds find, couldnt locate a pressure gauge but it seemed to run out a good stream when i tested it with the filter loose. but i tried something else too, if i spray carb cleaner into the intake and try to start it the damn thing will fire right up and i mean you just touch the key and its started before you can get off of it. so i want to know exactly what the startup process is the car goes through(shoebox?). and what keeps the fuel pump running. i'm down to the only thing it could really be is the fuel pump itself, but the car just revs so well and doesnt cut out at high rpm even at 6k it doesnt cut out a bit still feels strong. it just doesnt start fast as i think it should its just a couple of seconds longer than i think it should take.

surely somebody has some advice for me or could tell me the startup process.
