Hard to start?
Hard to start?
Hello all, I have a 95 with the LT1 and when the block is cold, its hard to start, but when the block is warm, I have to put the gas pedal to the floor to start it. Has anyone had this problem, or know mwhat cause this? Thanks for any help.

There is one explanation to account for both conditions. You probably have an injector or 2 that is leaking and dripping fuel. The fuel pressure will drop quickly. This causes a pooling of fuel in the intake causing a couple of problems. One, when you floor the throttle, the PCM cuts back the fuel from the injectors plus your allowing more air into the intake. Also check the vac line going to the FPR for wet but it's likely you won't see that.
Also the dripping fuel allows air into the fuel rails and level drops away from the engine.
The absolute first thing you should do is check the oil for level and for the smell of fuel. If an injector is dripping it can and usually does eventually find it's way into the oil. It can make the level go up but whether it does it not, you can smell it.
The second thing to do is pull up the fuel rail with the injectors connected and then power up the pump and look at each one and see if any are dripping.
You can power up the pump 2 ways, either turn the key on engine off (KOEO) for a few seconds and then off again and keep doing that. Obviously a PITA since you have to have help doing it. Or just apply 12 volts to the fuel pump prime connector for a short period of time while you check each injector for dripping.
You can also find the problem child by checking which plug(s) are fouled.

Thanks for the comments. So my best bet is to replace the injectors? I also forgot to mention that when the block is cold that it takes 1-2 minutes until i can give it gas, other wise it will try to die out on me.
