Hard on gass let off quick --> pop -> fire

Tonight i was driving and i floored it, and then let off abruptly to slow down. Well my loudmouth usually makes a pop when i do this. The guy behind me said my exhaust shot out flames. Im sure he just saw some unburned fuel/fumes intisde the pipes detonating but im wondering if this is telling me that i have a rich or lean condition? Or is it normal with an exhaust sys with very little back pressure?

thanks

My car has popped before doing something similar to that. I haven't had any backup responses that I shot flames or anything, it just did the loud pop. I dunno if it's evidence of a rich condition but I would think that a hard acceleration then abrupt letoff would cause a so called "rich" condition for a moment. Probably not constant though. Just cooincidentally with the situation.

A friend of mine from Slinger Wi did the same thing on his ls1 with the loud mouth. It was a sight to see ! However after he switched to the 2otl he didnt have that problem any more.

Its actually pretty normal when you suddenly let off for it to pop and you probably do have a rich condition as well.

When I got a tune it eliminated most of my popping.

same thing happens to me.....but when i had the 2OTL i didnt have a problem.....it might just be the design of teh loudmouth since tehres really no backpresure at all and that rosonating chamber could be at fault to ......so im switching over to the GMMG and soon willorder atune
