H/C LT1 can it hang??????
H/C LT1 can it hang??????
hey guy's i was wanting to know if a 94Z A4 with the LE2 H/C package hang with some LS1 A4 cam only cars? see my car ran a 14.5 with just a catback stock 3.23's in Lubbock TX (don't know the altitude). My friend with a 00 LS1 A4 Z ran a 14.1 stock with just a flowmaster and 3.23's. now the LS1 car has a Patriot 226/226. don't know the lift. he hasn't taken it to the track yet but that thing can move. lol. he's got all the supporting mods now with 3.73's out back now and a 3400 stall. see i'm planning on doing the LE2 H/C package this summer with all the supporting mods and 3.73's out back with a 3200 stall. my question is will i be able to hang with him in the quarter mile if we are both on M/T's or DR's? i would really like to know.
I'd go bigger than a 3200 stall with the LE2 h/c package
but yes in your should be close if not you faster than him. rest of cam specs lacking the 226/226 cam sounds fairly mild and I'd say 350-360rwhp with a decent tune where as a LE2 car should be around high 300's rwhp through an auto. just make sure you have a good tuner and a well matched stall and he shouldn't be too much of a problem

what would you recommend? it's my DD
honestly I'd be more worried about the heads/cam part ruining your DD abilities than a larger convertor, people exaggerate how "X size convertor is too big!" I'd say a 3400-3600 stall would be pretty nice with that package.
with a bigger cam car, I'd rather a have a convertor be too loose (too large of a stall rating) than too tight (too low of a stall rating)
a 3000-3200 is gonna be pretty dead on for a stock cam car, I imagine would be fairly tight on a LE2 cam

My thoughts too, if your going with an LE2 package. At least a 3600 for some quick and fun times. Sooner or later I'm upping my stall rating from my Vig. 2800 to a Yank 3600 and my cam is smaller then the LE2.
yeah I was saying 3400 only for the reason that he's worried about going too big
if you want a good estimate on a stall rating to go with, go to fuddleracing's website and ask for a recommendation on stall to match that package, I'm sure he knows the general powerband of the LE2 cars
