Guys with non-sequential (batch-fire) LT1's
Guys with non-sequential (batch-fire) LT1's
Does anyone have a low-speed miss that they can't seem to get rid of?
I have a '71 Camaro with an EFI ZZ4 that uses a TPIS Miniram intake (practically identical to the LT1 manifold) and 1990 GM TPI speed-density electronics. I've been fighting an idle miss (showing up on #2 cylinder) for a few years now. Done every diagnostic known to man and still can't get rid of it.
Sometimes it acts like a dead miss, other times its smoother and acts like a mildly rough idle.
The third gen guys over at thirdgen.org's DIY PROM area have been trying to help me quite a bit and together we've done a tremendous amount of tuning work to try to get rid of it. But at this point, I'm starting to wonder if it's just a characteristic of the manifold. Which is why I'm asking the question at the top.
If anyone has this problem, what was done to solve it? Maybe I could translate the solution into one that will work on a third gen.

Re: Guys with non-sequential (batch-fire) LT1's
I have a 93 with a low rpm miss, changed the coil, plugs, wires, fuel filter to no avail. Pulls all the way to redline with no problems if it isn't missing.
Re: Guys with non-sequential (batch-fire) LT1's
check the rocker arm adjustment on that #2 cylinder. There seems to be a lot of roller rocker problems esp. with the most advertised product. it could be that the lifters are not holding the pressure. Worth a check!
