Guys with GM847

I have the gm847 and I was wondering am I enjoying my cam like I should with the stock 3:42 gears? I've been doing a little bit of racing, and it seems that I am always playing catch up and pulling cars in the top end but I just curious to see what gears other guys out there are running in the rear end and how they like them. My car is a 6 speed.

My car is A4. I have 3.73 gears and find it great. I Think you should install 4.10 or at least 3.73.

i had a 6speed car with the 847 and i had 4.11 in it but blew that rear end up
i think you would def benifit from some gears the 4.11 were perfect imo i shifted a 6700-6800 and it was almost exatly 30 mph for each gear iefirst to 30 second to 60 third to 90 etc
and the car was really fun to drive but
if you wanna race some bikes on the high way i found 2.73 to be kinda fun lol

4.10 definately. the 847 makes power higher and the grunt would be there down low.

I would go 3.73's on an A4 car, I have heard most people with the 4.10's on an A4 car don't like em. I have a friend with a Comp 306 and 3.73's and it pulls great.

Yeah , I thought a lower gear ratio would be a little more enjoyable but are you guys having more traction problems with the 3:73 and 4:10's?
Because with my 3:42's once I roll into first gear once the cam hits powerband around 3-4k the car gets loose and I really have to baby the thing out of the hole on a street. I havent tracked it yet.

Yes, traction out of the hole is a problem with street tires but with the proper tire it would improve.

You need more gear, clear and simple. Then suspension mods and the right tires.
