gutted cat
I was thinking of pulling my 3" cat and putting a gutted one that i have on the car . I was told it has a new high flow cat, not sure if its true. With the gutted one will the car gain any power or sound from this.

Nice screen-name.
You'll gain a handful of ponies from it, and you'll notice a raspier and louder exhaust note. Some think it sounds great, while others do not. A straight-pipe would be a better alternative, to minimize exhaust turbulence.

Gutting the cats doesn't do jack for the car's performance. I am just polluting the environment more, and after the headers, my car doesn't sound all that impressive. Don't do it, it is a waste of time. If you want to do something good, get a off-road pipe.

My cat is gutted and the whole car smells like gas at times. Especially sitting at a light, my guess is that the wind blows it into the cabin. Either that or something else is wrong with my car . I'm definatly thinking about going to an aftermarket cat.
