I haven't noticed any problems recently. The Z's been running great. But today I was getting close to a light that was yellow. I was doing between 5-10mph and floored it. First I heard a pop like a small backfire, then she lit up, but no wheel spin. It was weird. Why did this happen. The temps were still low, between 0 and half on the gauge. Any ideas? I know its not the opti, I just replaced it less than 2 months ago and less than 1,000 miles. The car seems fine now, but why did it do this? Thanks everyone!

Thanks, but I've checked all the obvious causes. I'm thinking that its running rich for some reason, but O2's have been changed recently. Is it possible to buy O2 sims for a 94? If so where would I get them from?
One of the most frequent causes of backfire is a lean condition.
What shape is your fuel system in? Fuel pressure at WOT, have the injectors been cleaned in the last decade. How's the condition of the regulator? Filter and so on.

What kinda place do you suggest to clean the injectors, and what do you think that I'm looking at price wise? By-the-way, the injectors probably haven't been cleaned in the last decade.
I haven't checked fuel pressure yet under any load. The filter is new and I'm not sure about the regulator. How much would a new one run me? Thanks for the help. Would an exhaust leak around one manifold cause the lean condition. I would think that if anything the computer would think that its lean and rich it out. Am I wrong?
