Guideplates go on top or bottom of stud?
Guideplates go on top or bottom of stud?
didn't get the self aligning 1.6 pro mag rocker arms that i wanted, instead i got the non-self aligning, so now i need guideplates. I already did a seach and got nada. So do the guideplates install on the bottom of the stud or under the rocker arm?.....and since i've already got comp stock length pushrods...will the guideplates affect that? will i need longer pushrods?
They install UNDER the studs exactly like a spacer between the studs and head. The pushrod length will be unaffected. The polylock for the rocker will be threaded down further on the stud the thickness of the guideplates. At proper adjustment the rockers will be pushing up in the exact same position aligned with the valvestem and rocker, same position relative to the head, but further down relative to the stud.
Here is a picture of guideplates already installed if that helps.

Get the GM guideplates p/n 14011051. You will need 8.
Given the nature of your question, I would do some serious research and maybe get a manual, so you know what you are doing.
