Guaging interest. The Ultimate LT1 alternator relocation bracket.
Guaging interest. The Ultimate LT1 alternator relocation bracket.
Moderators, I'm not sure if this is the right place for this or not...
When I was building my turbo setup; I, like many others, was faced with the issue of alternator relocation while trying to retain power steering. This bracket is what i came up with. Since making mine, I have had many members of this board contact me, wanting a similar bracket.
I've decided that if I can get about 5 people to "pre-order" these, I can go ahead and make some for a target cost of about $400 per bracket.
This bracket uses the stock LT1 alternator, stock LT1 power steering pump, and an LS1 spring tensioner. Installation will require either the removal or relocation of your front swaybar. (most that will use this bracket have long ditched the front bar anyway).
Here are some pictures of my bracket (which was cut and milled by hand), and some CAD models of what the "production" bracket will look like (which will be cut on a cnc waterjet).
