Guage Cluster Fuse?

hey guys, well i just got my court date for a speeding ticket i got back in the summer. Anyways im trying to think of excuses i can use to get out of it cuz i cant get any points against my license(we have a gay *** points thing here with tickets that can add up to suspend a license over time). Anyways i was wondering if there is a fuse that effects the guage cluster ie:speedo. If so im gonna go to the local parts store and get a reciept made up for the right date and use it as my defence, if this fuse exist PLEASE reply. Thanks

Re: Guage Cluster Fuse?

No such fuse, there is a magnetic motor that sets the speedo.
Anyway, you ca use other excuse...We have winter time, so you wanted to be safe and you put a set of winter tires. And since you have pretty large wheels, only winter tires that you found were some 235/65/16 (they will fit f body). Since new tire is larger by 2.5 inches the speedo will be off by 10 or more mhp (depends on the rpm)...You can tell that to the judge explain everything, and he should set you free

You could learn to not speed just as the rest of us did by paying fines. If that doesn't work i did have a buddy that intentionally reflashed his car so his speedo would be off. Then he took it to a shop and got them to say the speedo was off. Then after he got that sheet from the shop he reprogrammed his speedo back.

He would have to go from a smaller tire to a larger tire to get a ticket for being over the speed limit.

Re: Guage Cluster Fuse?

Read it again.
HE had a stock tire before 255/50/16 and speedo was okay, and NOW he “supposedly” changed it to larger winter tire (235/65/16). So now his speedo will show 80 miles, when he is going 90 (more or less). Is that correct

Re: Guage Cluster Fuse?

well thanx for all the replies....and well i'll make up sumthing good. the thing is here in B.C there is graduated licensing where u start of with a learners permit and have a red magnetic L on the car then take a road test and get ur N which is green and u have to put that on the car.....well this N comes with a limit in points for new drivers. well all i can say is i drove 2years + with nothing then in one month i protested 2 tickets this being the first worth 3 points and the second 6 points for peeling out at a cruise nite...not even a burn out . so the limit is 6 points which wont work if i lose both tickets....since the protest ive gotten my full license and im good to go for any new tickets....i just dont wanna lose my license over 2 goddamn tickets.....well sorry for the speal but i got served the court date today and im just really worried about this....guess it'll teach me. Well thanx again for the input. and if anyone wants to see how lame this licensing thing is.go to www.icbc.com......take it easy......speeding only slows u down, lol

Re: Guage Cluster Fuse?

Here is what you do man. Reprogram you car with a diff. rear end ratio, say 4.11s, and take it into a shop to have them test the accuracy of the speedo. The best way is to go find a shop that uses the old fashioned stop watch method but make sure they are certified to test speedometers b/c not all of them are. Get a not saying how far off the speedo is and take it to the DA or Judge and see what they say. I got out of a ticket using this very method however I warn you it only works once and if they figure out what you did(not sure how they could prove it) then you may be looking at some jail time.
