Ok...sometimes my car doesn't make that grinding noise that it used to on startup and sometimes it does. Now when I rev it in park/neutral slowly, it's fine....then when I rev it real quick, I get that horrible grinding noise, but it doesn't last long. Then at WOT on the 1-2 shift, it grinds during the shift. These new grinding noises just started yesterday after I drove it 1200 miles to NY. Any help is appreciated.

You are going to have to give a better description. There is not enough info there (at least for me).

 

rob its MattZ28 from ws6zxr.com....i had that slight grinding noise on cold startup...sounded like the starter was scraping or something...last time i checked the inspection plate there were no shavings of metal in there, but its been like 2 months since ive checked. i just changed the oil before the trip -- castrol gtx 5w30.
it sounds exactly like the flex plate is scraping something. i'll see if i can bring it to my uncle's shop and have him check it out but i wanted to get some opinions from people so i know what to look for

 

Take the flexplate cover completely off and see if it does it.
