Did the cam install and then it started right up. Ran it 20 min. then changed the oil. starts right up. i find out that fully depressed the pedal only takesit to 1k rpm. turn the car off and now it doesn't sart. sounds lke it is right there almost turninbg over but doesnt. WTF? Im a car idiot,please help.

obviously there are some codes. 27(egr solenoid, I deleted it) and 33 (low vacuum)

should i install my pcm4less programming with it off and saee how it owrks?

 

I would readjust the rockers.What did you set them at?What all did you change on the car?

 

Onlything that changed is I changed the oil. Even after I did that itstarted. Now I just installed my new program and it still doesnt start. I have left the rockersalone so far,.

I try giving it some gas and it kicks a little then bacfires out back and then a backfire up front. You think my opti is bad? This is still the stock one with 45k. It seems as though it isn't getting spark. Onece again though,Im no genius with cars.

 

I think you have the rockers too tight,the valves are not closing.Make them one half turn past zero lash.

Lifters pumped up running it and the engine got hot.Parts expand when heated.

 

Not to argue but wouldn't that mean all I need to do is let it cool down an itshould start?

Half a turn vs. one full turn would be a height difference of what, very minimal. I can see where that would hurt performance but i cant see why the car wouldnt start b/c of that.

just trying to underrstand. btw, i got the computer in the garage with me while I am working on it. lol makes it much easier.

 

oh ya, the car only ran for 2 minutes today. yday it ran for 20 an started up again this morning
