i just put it up on ramps eeek, i have no idea now, looks like it could be intake manifold along with several other things, i guess that what happens when you buy a 95 z with 12,000 miles thats been sitting for a while, maybe thats why the dealer wouldn't offer me any sort of warranty........why must i have such bad luck with these things

ya u could be looking at a nightmare like i listed on aim

the big seals..

intake - $600

rear seal.. - $800+

front seal... - $700 (probably $800)

heads.... - $400-$600

estimating but i just had my whole engine gone through and we put new gaskets on everything as we went aka brand new motor

Heck, if all of those seals were shot at once, someone might as well just get their engine rebuilt for what it would cost them to have those replaced. Thats assuming they can't do it themselves.

think one at a time now if they where done all together itd be alot cheaper but comn most of these things are going to be considered 5-6 hour jobs rear seal u gotta take quiet a bit off

all those seals would be around $2,000 or so might as well have it gone through

I have a leak too.It started up a few weeks ago when the tempeture dropped.I just got it checked out at a garage. The verdict was the intake manifold gasket was leaking in the rear and the estimate was $300-350.

I agree this is a good job for a starter as it is pretty basic

just takled this job today the intake took les than 15 mins to get off from a driveable state
new gaskets and rtv set it back on there and in less than an hour my leak was fixed
but i had been chasing this particular oil leak for a couple weeks now
id say do the intake and throw some new vavle cover gaskets on as well and that should be a very good start to fixing the problem
