Got A Question About The OPTI

If you OPTI is messing up would it be sending any codes..

Also
I plan on modding out my car some after i get my problem fixed just need to figure out what is wrong with it first. going to work on it this friday (Its my senior skip day for my high school )
I think its the OPTI. Car runs fine for 15-20 mins until car gets nice and warm. if you just accelrate like normally and just push on the throtle smoothly it will run fine for alot longer than 20mins but if you pump the gas it will start to hesitate i guess you would call it. the tach will jump around some feels like the car is not geting enough gas. Also going to check the Fuel filter, pressur, spark plugs and wires before i go after the opti what yall think. have read throught alot of other posts and most ppl with a similar problem had to replace thier opti. and which opti does my car use the vented or not vented and whats the differance.

Thanks all for even reading this.

To the best of my knowledge, it doesn't always throw a code. I think it depends on what part fails. It does sound like your opti has gone south though. Yours is the non-vented (93-94). You can convert over to the vented which is better because it helps keep moister out (One of the opti's main problems.) There is some extra parts you will need for the swap. I am not sure what all is needed, but you can do a search on this board and find out.

Take a look at what rpm does the hesitation occur. If it's always at a certain rpm no matter what gear you are in, most likely it's the opti.

Always comb over your plug wires, coil wire and coil connections before saying "opti!".
The ICM can also cause trouble when it gets hot.
