got one for you shoebox
got one for you shoebox
car has two blown headgaskets.. but will crank and run for a couple of secs. runs "good" but after a couple of secs it cuts off.... no sputter or anything just dies. fuel pump relay is good... security light is ON , the car is a repo and had no keys. we had keys made and the vats is wrong. i've bypassed the starter relay , but i was wondering if the vats controlls the fuel pump like on a corvette?
Re: got one for you shoebox
You can either plug in a resistor under the dash to bypass the vats, or have it disabled in the computer. Either way will allow you to get fuel. Easiest thing to do is just bypass it, instructions are on shoeboxes website.
Re: got one for you shoebox
The Passkey sends a signal to the PCM for "fuel enable" which allows the PCM to run the injectors. Fuel pump relay control is controlled by the PCM, but not by the Passkey module. After the initial priming, the f/p relay is only operated after the PCM sees low resolution pulses from the opti.
You need to find the correct resistance to satisfy the Passkey module or buy a bypass module for the fuel enable signal (not the same as the key pellet bypass).
