Got my head info finally!!

These are Joe Prince heads. He flat out told me that the flow bench they were done on is a consistent 12 lower than his own bench, so take that as you may.

Stock 92-93 LT1 Castings
52 CC Combustion Chambers
175 CC Intake Runners

LIFT - - I - - E
.100 - 072 - 069
.200 - 125 - 110
.300 - 182 - 139
.400 - 224 - 158
.450 - 242 - 168
.500 - 255 - 188
.550 - 260 - 203
.600 - 260 - 203

These are the same heads that produced 375/363 from a XE 224/230 112* cam through ASM Headers and a Random Tech Cat and Cat Back. NO CUTOUT OR ANYTHING.

I'm pretty pleased. Let's see how they do with a custom cam now!!

$1300, completed heads with springs, valves, and other such.

When Joe first flowed them on his bench last summer when he initially ported them, he got 272/210@.550, and I still have that sheet. Supports his statement about the flow.

Flow numbers be damned, the heads performed.

Mine were done by Joe right before yours...Mine are pretty similar.

No dyno #'s, but the 12.0 with a stock bottom end/full weight doesn't lie...........

Was NOT flowed with a pipe.

Repeat:

Was NOT flowed with a pipe.

Frank,

Yeah, that's a pretty safe assumption that your heads flow VERY similarly to mine. You may not have the competition valve job either. Mine didn't, and thus had to have a new valve job.

Joe was 100% behind me with this. He picked up the tab for all the work that needed to be done to the heads. Total stand up job on his end. My kudos to him.

I'm not sure if Joe actually did the valve job on mine...He has a machinist do alot of his machine work for him.

I thought Joe went to work for someone else (JD Performance)?

My heads were done at Prescision Machine, although I'm not sure where yours were done.

Joe does the porting. Milling, valve jobs, spring setup, seats, ect, and anything else machining related he farms out. No biggie in my eyes.

Prescision Machine is also the one that overbored two cylinders in Bryans (PCMforless) 383.

Joe is now using Lorenzo's Fast Cylinder Heads for his machining. I was at that shop today and those guys are big time.

I talked to the Machinist on the phone, but I can't remember the name. I know he told me they build pro stock engines????

So, Joe is back working for himself?

I know Lorenzo's is into Funny cars, so I really can't say who did your heads.

As for Joe and his business, I'm not at liberty to say what I know. Keep an eye on the internal engine forum on LS1Tech. Joe said he's going to bring his side of the stories out within the next few days.

I’d suggest this for anyone interested in doing business with JPR. The “search” function is your friend.

There's a lot of flak running around about Joe right now, but it's all one sided. It's a lynching going on, but there's plenty of satisfied people out there too, myself included.

I'm holding firm that he's a good guy to work with.
