Angry got a flush. NOW NEED OPTI WTF!!!!!!

you guys wont believe this. I took my z up to my pops shop (Ray Huffines) that happens to be a HUGE chevy dealership here in Texas, to get a simple radiator flush. My pops knows plenty of guys that work there and he let this certain mechanic (tony) do the flush and the ******$#%^er spilled radiator fluid ALL OVER MY OPTI. and since the car did not have a ticket on it I AM RESPONSIBLE. WTF!!!! did not have a ticket bc its a inside job cuz my pops ya get it???? anyway I tried to drive my car off the lot and it feels like its only running on 3 cylinders... The car is NOT drivable so I had to have a friend come pick me up. so now a $40 radiator flush turned into a $350 opti and prolly $200 labor. I cant afford this kind of thing right now and dont know what to do. what you guys think about this???? Should I have Big Shep go kick his A$$ or what???? (Big shep = ex pro lineman for seattle seahawks.....6'6 396 pds. me and him are real close friends) <-JOKE EVERYBODY, ITS A JOKE

Thats the risk you run having things done under the table. Learn to do this stuff yourself and you wont have this problem again.

BTW, sending your friend to have the mechanic beat up makes your a real tough guy. Sh*t happens, deal with it.

Its things like these that no matter how little experiance I have with fixing things on a Fbody that I will do it myself because when it comes to these cars I swear most people don't know jack about. I've went from only changing oil on my 84 monte carlo to swapping clutches, and replacing the water pump and opti. Its really easy to do, and you know its done right.

as the old saying goes you get what you pay for. Not to be a di** but i can't undersand how a simple flush and fill could have spilt coolant. But sh** happens. Are you sure someone there didnt pee in your tank

From a former professional mechanic
Man, you really don't get it.
You expect the shop owner to stand behind an inside job? WTF? Hope you made a huge scene and ruined the system for your "pops and the guys he knows", who were probably trying to help you out. The right thing would've been to offer free or discounted "inside job" labor, but you still buy the optispark. It's the unspoken code. If an inside job goes wrong, you cover their out-of-pocket expenses.
$40 Barely covers antifreeze right now. You get what you pay for, even when you're doing it yourself. But if you're calling it radiator fluid, you probably ain't doing it yourself. Nice shep comment too. What are you, 12? Oh wait, you're driving. What are you, 16?

There's a possibility the opti will dry out in a couple of days. Wait and see if it does.

LOL A radiator flush is nothing, should have done it yourself. Good luck installing the opti yourself.

Give it a couple of days, it may be drivable long enough for you to get money for a new cap and rotor after some of the water comes out

Start the car and let it run. This will allow the opti to dry out and not sit there and rsut, which is what it's doing right now.

Re: got a flush. NOW NEED OPTI WTF!!!!!!

let is dry out, it could still be OK.

As far as the mechanic that spilled fluid all over it, get a firearms ID card and pick up a nice 12 guage. Problem solved.

WHAT?! no dont start it at all...youll fry the internals of the opti...let it sit for at least 2 days then try it...same thing happened to my freind after water pump install...he let it dry for 3 days and never had a problem
