Goodyear hi-miler hoses?

anyone ever used these?

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/GTR-5006/

Supposed to be longer lasting than generic hoses?

I've seen them used on a couple of guys cars, but I went OEM because that blue always looks damned ugly after a few miles. I'm kind of a clean freak under my hood though....

Seen some on an Impala, they would be ok if they weren't blue.

I had those hoses on my third gen, and they looked terrible after a few months.

I thought it would make the bay look a little better, but if they change colors, thats probably not a good thing...

anyone ever used the "Samco" Radiator Hoses?

heres a link

http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/s...7-p-15041.html

a bit pricey but come in 7 colors(including black)... for just 4 hoses $192...

probably end up going OEM, but just wondering if anyone had better luck with these maintaining their color, quality?

I never saw the Samco, but I took a serious look at the hi-miler set, b/c they had everything. But I kept loosing my lunch when I looked at the color. I ended up getting Goodyear hoses piece by piece from Summit. They carry most, if not all of them, you just have to select each one at a time. Boring black, but I trust the Goodyear brand, they were reasonably priced, and it was "one stop shopping".

93-94 have one hose configuration, and 95-97 have a different configuration. The difference is due to the way the steam pipe from the back of the heads is routed. On the 93-94 cars it goes directly to the radiator. On the 95-97 cars, it goes to the throttle body first.

Shoebox has the hose routing diagrams - compare these and you will see the differences:

I suspect its the complex part #14 that has made them avoid making a set for the 93-94 cars.

The work fine on a 94 as long as you have done the throttle body bypass.

If you put a 95-97 hose set on a 94 you would cap off the side-out connection of the "tee" in the heater return hose (that where the throttle body feed attaches) - see link below - and - looking at the 95-97 radiator hose routing diagram - you would connect hose #13 directly to point #6 on the steam line. Or just keep the hose you currently have that connects the steam line to the radiator (#4 in the 93-94 radiator hose diagram).

93-94 heater hose diagram, from Shoebox:
