In high altitude it is going to be hard to get your car to perform on the levels it would at low altitude places. Basically just build your car up to get the most air and fuel it can and it will perform better than most cars in your area. So if you get a chance to take it to lower altitude, you will be very happy w/the results!!

I ran mid 13's w/cam, c.a.i. 4.10's, and full exhaust, and heads in Denver,CO so I would say it's very possible. Now I live in Texas (sold my Z I did it in ). I think it might have to do w/the gears and the M6 tho, plus the weather was good and the track conditions were above average.

Good heads and a cam will help you a lot at any altitude.

The best setup for high altitude places is a TURBO...... But I don't think there are any mass produced turbo setups for LT1's?

www.proturbokits.com has one......but it will cost you about $4300 with all the stuff you need.

heads and cam would cost about $2500 for good stuff.

True, but my point is that at HIGH ALTITUDE a turbo is a better choice, because turbocharged cars, all boost levels being equal, perform the same at all altitudes.... whereas a heads/cam car will not perform nearly as well at altitude.
