what trans in your car? if you or only looking to get to around 80 quick there might be better / cheaper options than a cam swap

Yup, better ways to get to 80 quick. For example, rear end gears. Not really sure why you want to get to 80 quickly.

Stall and gears, maybe fresh springs on the existing cam.

The 306 would be a really poor choice for what you are asking, it needs to rev roughly 1000rpms beyond what the factory rev limit is.

I have a 90 camaro that i will be doing a 96 LT1 swap. I have 3:73 posi with 700r4 high performance shift kit w/ corvette servo. I want to do a cam swap and do a 3000-3200 stall.

Sounds like he wants a torqey car for fun around town at normal speeds. He's pretty smart really. Most people overbuild, then end up with a car that's a dog for 99% of the time they are driving it.

Ya i dont care about goin 150 mph just something to have fun in. I would like a good cam mabey for a 1/4 mile but will proubly never take it down the track. Just something that will have more power at lower speeds i like the felling of the car just jumping up and taking off like a rocket.

Crane 227(210/224 duration) or the Lingenfelter 211/219

(corrected duration, BUBBA was right)

I had the CC501 in my Hawk 383. Just barely a lope. Was like stock in a 383. I was at 90% max torque at 2000 RPM with that cam but the curve would plummet after 5500 RPM. in a 350, the RPM range would be a few hundred more up top.

I have the cc503 and I think that is a very well balanced cam for the LT1. Very good lowend and still runs well on the topend with the unported heads factory heads.

Ok mabey i will look more in to that one! Just wondering how much power are you making with that cam? Or i guess how much power will that make me? I think i got the rest kinda figured out just want to find that cam.

My plan
96 impala ss LT1 stock 260hp and 330tq
cam????
3000-3200 stall
rebuild .30 over
performance springs and rockers
Headers/ y-pipe
and a good tune

hopefully gain 100hp???
thanks

I dyno'd 350 rwhp (see sig) with open cut outs. My best ET at this point is 12.71 at 112 mph. I think I could do better because this was my first time to the track on slicks and unfortunately that run was also with high RPM missfires. The problem turned out to be multiple burnt plug wires. I am hoping for low 12's with the car this spring.
