Good installation prices?

Hey guys, I stopped by my local performance shop to get some installation prices. Anyway, the guy was really nice, so I just wanted to know if these were good prices. These are just installation prices.

Headers, y-pipe, spark plugs, and wires- $350
LT4 Hotcam kit- $700 (I told him nevermind on that one)
3.73 gears, 3" carrier, speedo recalibrator, and rear end kit (buchings and bearing and junk)- $175
Torque Converter- $165
NOS Dry kit- $200

Are these good prices. I thought the camshaft was very high, so I will find somewhere else or just go without. Also, if I get all of these, plus drag radials, minus the camshaft, what kind of 1/4 mile will I run w/ a 100 shot? Thanks and God Bless

Those are pretty good prices. I would go there right away and have him install your stuff. Also, that price for the cam install is great. It normally runs about $800-900.

Those prices sound about right. I suggest grabbing a shop manual and do it yourself, it's not that hard. You'll gain a lot of experience and knowledge on F bod's and save a $hitload of money in the process.

I agree with 1fast95z. Do it yourself. Nothing on your list is really that difficult, they're just time consuming. The prices do look pretty good though. I'd like to see the headers, y pipe, spark plugs, and wires done for $350. That's a steal. He'll be cursing for weeks if you take your car there and he has to do just that stuff for that price. It definitely doesnt sound like he knows what he is getting into. Ha ha. Not to make it sound hard, but it just takes some time and patience and when he's trying to make money, he'll get impatient real quickly.

Cool

If he's experienced in LT 1 F - Bodies those are very fair prices all around. If he's not experienced then run away!

No, he's really experianced. He has done 383's, LT4's, and all sorts of installs on f-bodies. He is a big time drag racer. He has a 68 Camaro that runs like 8's. He's the best guy in town, I wouldn't go to anyone but him. Thanks for all the replies. God Bless

The cam install price sounds good to me...I've always been told it would be around $900 to install one.
