My condolences to all of the families involed, a very sad scene indeed. One thing I really hate, is how the media writes it as a drag racing crash, when in reality it is a street racing crash. This is how us drag racers get a bad rap

i'm sorry for the loss. i sincerely wish the loss of life hadnt occured.

i dont know, maybe i'm the only one, but i dont mind dying doing what i love. and racing, whether on the track, or the street, feels damn good...for those few seconds, nothing else matters...and i guess the same goes with death...nothing else matters.

Turns up 3 people have died from a little street race. My buddy and another backseat passenger thrown from the ttops died instantly and the driver died today in the hospital. All because they wanted to have a little fun!

I am sorry to hear about this. But does anybody know how fast they were going and how exactly they lost control?

Im not really sure how fast they were going. Some of our South Carolina members that were there at the gathering and seen the fatal car crash. Said they were doing about 80mph when he lost control of the car and hit a pole. The link above has some more details.

Sad to hear my prayers are with the families.I had a close call a few week ago in a street race. It really woke me up. You never know when someone will lose control.I never think about wrecking when racing. but I guss we should. Please everyone if you are going to street race do it on a back road with no other cars and NO PASSENGERS!Buckel up too.Plus I see guys race untill someone wins,an 1/8th sometimes 1/4 (location pending) on the street is plent, dont go 150mph to win.

I'm sorry to hear for you lose. The more stories that I hear like this really discourage me from doing it anymore. I feel so bad for the guy's little daughter. I guess my girlfriend has a ligitiment concern for not wanting me to do it.

This is a very tragic story, but I find myself more angry than sad for your two idiot friends... did anyone else notice that they were thrown from the car? They are OLD ENOUGH to know that street racing isn't a smart move (and with a child on the way?!?!), but doing it WITHOUT HAVING YOUR SEATBELT ON is just third-world stupid. The pic of the back half of the car looks pretty beat up, but had they had their seat belts on, they probably would have been treated at the scene just like the 3rd passanger and walked away from it.

My heart goes out to their friends and family, as they are the true victims of this.

I 2nd that. You can't really feel that bad for the people that were doing it, but you have to feel for their familys/loved ones/freinds. This is really really sad.

I heard about it on the news but didnt get to hear much. Were they from Greenville? I think of stuff like this all the time. I guess thats why i try not to street race and if i do its at "not so fast" speeds. Once your adrenaline kicks in and your shifting gears against someone beside you people tend to not care about what the consequences could be.

That sucks sorry man. Couple of thing to look at before bashing street racing though. Down here in south Florida we have millions of people(NO TRACKS), and the one track is 2+hours away from Miami/Lauderdale. Many dont wanna drive 2hours to get one run in over the corse of 3hours, and if you break down 150 tow bill home. . There is a right and wrong way to street race. Racing with 3 people in your car is selfish and stuped. Shows no regaurd for others. There is a right time to race, even if theres some ***** bag kid in a 03 cobra reving his motor every 2.3 seconds. If it does not appear to be safe dont race him, let him race himself, atleast you did not put anyone else at risk. If theres a wide open innerstate with you and another racer and your fine with risking a hudge ticket go for it.

This FAST AND FURRY CRAP IS %^CKING IT FOR US ALL. Every day I drive home there is 3 ricers driving like nuts in and out of rush hour traffic.
