Is this a good deal on GM 1.6 RR?

I wasn't entirely sure where to post this.. but I figured more people in here would have an idea..

My shop teacher told me he has a set of GM 1.6 Roller Rockers made for my engine, and he asked if I was interested. So he called up Karbelt to give me an idea of what they would normally cost. And they said around 600 or so for the set, but they were on sale for 550 (Canadian)

So he offered the set to me for 350 Canadian (so roughly 245 American)

Does that sound like a good deal? Keeping in mind, up here.. parts tend to end up costing more than in the states, even after the exchange of currency.

Thanks!

New sets go around that price here. Mildly used ones around 200 USD

Amy seem a little high but worth it if they are new. The crane gold race rockers go for about 300 new and they are comaprable.

U can try pro stock in edmonton just to see what they sell them for. their prices are usually good. For accel 36# injectors, you pay the same in Canadian dollars ($389) that you would pay if you ordered them from summit ($389 U.S.), and there is no added shipping or customs, just the good old GST.

Their # is 780-453-6161. Depending on where you live, you might have engine performance shops that sell parts for good prices (eg. Mopac, JB's Power Center).

Last weekend my buddy did heads/cam/exhaust/etc on his car over at my place. He had some blue rockers that he installed. They were new and I'm thinking he said he paid like $160 for them or something

I'll get the details for ya if you'd like. They aren't GM rockers but they look to be of similar quality to the Cranes.

That seems like a fair price to me. I plan to sell mine for $200 here in a few months. They have only been on the car for about 3000 miles.

The only performance place around here that I can seem to find is Karbelt But their prices are ridiculous. You know how much they wanted for a 48mm Holley TB? $1041 Canadian! So I never go there...

Does that Pro Stock place in Edmonton have a website or something? That we be nice.. if not I'll try calling them..

Brent... 160 bucks? holy crap.. were they stolen or something and he bought them hot They look nice!

Keep in mind... these are BRAND new GM 1.6 RR.. still in the box I think he said.. and that is $350 Canadian FLAT... no tax, no shipping etc...

I really need to find a performance shop around here..
