Is this a good deal?

A friend of mine is selling this stuff.

I undrestand what it is for the most part.

I have 2 questions.

1. What would you pay for the parts. (I want to get a deal)

2. What gains can I expect?

Hotcam: $206.22(after shipping)(gmpartsdirect.com)
Isky 235-D Chrome Silicon Valve Springs, 1.260 OD Single Spring w/ damper, suitable to .550 lift, set of 16: $89.99
Comp Cams Titanium Retainers For Use w/ Isky #235-D Valvespring:$149.95
GM Spring Locators for use w/ ISKY 235-D Valve Springs (Set of 16):$46.88
Comp Cams 11/32 7 Degree Maching Steel Locks, set of 16:$20.99
K-Line 11/32 Valve Stem Seals, set of 16:$26.00
Comp Cams Hi-Energy hardened pushrods, 7.200 OEM: $36.95
Guideplates for OEM width pushrods: I dont remember.

Re: Is this a good deal?

You can buy the LT4 hotcam kit which comes with cam, lifters, springs, retainers and locks, and 1.6 ratio aluminum rocker arms for right around 500.00. It's hard to place a value on someone elses stuff, (I would rather they just gave it to me ), ask hin what he wants to get for it and see if it's worth it to you. If none of the stuff has been opened I'd say it's worth whatever he paid for it, but it never works out that way.

Re: Is this a good deal?

Only problem with the hotcam kit is I would never use the LT4 springs with that cam. IMO those springs are outmatched. You're actually close to coil bind with those on the hotcam with 1.6 rockers. Plus I'd be afraid a single spring, over time, would weaken and you'd lose RPM potential.

Get a good dual high lift valve spring for any aftermarket cam.

Re: Is this a good deal?

400 with the rockers and I'd do it. But not without, you can get better deals on the for sale forum.

I got my cam, and 1.6 SA roller rockers for 220. Hes not giving you that great of a deal probably cuz he doesn't want to bite the bullet and take a huge loss.

For 400 you should be able to get 1.6 roller rockers too.
