Good Combination of Parts?
Good Combination of Parts?
I'm sure by now you guys are tired of seeing my posts. I do appreciate the help and info though. I plan on going a new direction with my motor. Tell me what you think. Are these parts compatible with each other? Is there something I should substitute something for something else? Give me feedback.
Block: 355 forged pistons/rods, splayed mains

anything i'm missing? HP?

Re: Good Combination of Parts?
What kind of power do you want to make? Who are you having the heads ported by, and what other valvetrain components? If you are plannign on making a ot of power you may want larger injectors and throttle body.
Re: Good Combination of Parts?
Well, I'm about to do something like this. Just from searching on this site, I would go with bigger injectors and a bigger cam that the cc306 if you plan on getting the most out of the heads with 2.02 and 1.6 valves. You could go with the GM 847 and 37lb injectors or go with the 2.0 and 1.56 valves. I'm not an expert but I have done some research on this.
Re: Good Combination of Parts?
should i go with the 58mm TB? I have 1.6 rr's and was thinking about solid roller lifters. I got to do some more research on the lifters. I need a pretty good estimate of power to determine which injectors to go with.
Re: Good Combination of Parts?
Build a 6 inch rod 355 , the extra dwell of the piston with these rods will fill the cylinders slightly better. The GM 847 will be nice in a 355, it also seems to have a better torque curve that I have seen than the CC306.
Re: Good Combination of Parts?
With a longer rod the piston is pushed in a starighter fashion thus reliving some of the side load on the cylender. The longer rod will also make the piston stay at the top and bottom of each stroke for a little longer assisting cylender fill and evacuation.

The cam will seem larger. But it's all gooood!!
