call chad talk to him as he told me stock balancer is zero balance slide it on dont worry about position of arrow ( i always line it up though so that i know where tdc is) only reason you would need it to be keyed is if it were balanced to your rotating assembly (ie external balance) or with a blower so that you dont spin it on the snout of the crank

the stock crank has a keyway cut in it, well actually two: 1 of them has a key in it it is used to locate the timing chain sprocket onto the crank, The second outer most keyway does not have the key in it from the factory, the balancer is zero balanced from the factory thats probably why they didn,t put the keyway in b/c its orientation on the crank is irrelevant, they just install it w/ the pointer as a reference mark for TDC,with either #1 or #6 at TDC that pointer should be @ 12 o'clock(doesn't have to be i just like it for referernce when setting valve lash) Chad Golen told me he must have spun over 100 stock lt1 balancers on a balance and they all are zero balance, do make sure you have your flexplate/flywheel zero balanced
Hope this helps
