Going to smaller cam: Too small???

Here`s what I currently got:
Stock short block LT1,AFR 190 w/53cc chambers/Ferrea 6000 valves,Comp solid roller:
230/236 @.050 .590/.565 (1.6/1.5) 112LSA straight up Lash:.016/.018

Timing- open close
intake: 3* 47*
exhaust: 50* 6*

Matching Comp valvetrain
1074 Fel-Pro head gasket and all the other typical bolt ons
190 hot cranking, 16.5 in. vacuum @ 850 rpm. mail order TPIS tune redline 6800rpm. It`s a real nice setup, wide powerband.
Have no idea what the DCR would be on this set up

I`m tossing around the idea of going to the next smaller Comp solid roller:224/230 112LSA 4*advanced. Looking to bring powerband down/gain some low end/not spin it as high.
230/236 cam is pretty good as far as streetability goes, slight surge at low rpm/low load conditions. Could be tuned out, maybe?
I know these are SMALL solid rollers compared to what some guys are running. Willing to give up all out HP.
I`m concerned about.... detonation of course
Yeah, I know you guys are saying "smaller!?" LOL
I guess I`m starting to get a little old!

Hey Chad...I haven't forgot about you and the shorties...Still haggling over Kooks price...Should be soon, though...As far as the your cam choices, you know I like em on the small side, but I have no experience with solid roller cams...good luck...

Hello Alan,
I wasn`t worried that you might have forgotten! No hurry.
Yes, I have seeeeeeen the light. The LPE 211/219 cam is still a possibility with me.
Chad
