GMPP guide plates? Do the LT1's need these?

My CNC cylinder heads have Comp Cams guide plates. I have heard these arent the right ones due to proper alignement of the pushrod to valve stem? IS this true, anyone run into any problems with the Comp CAms guide plates?

I'm running Comp guide plates with 3/8" push rods, and they line up fine. I understand that with 5/16" push rods, there are alignment issues.

I am running the 5/16 and did not know till I came to this site, that there is a issue with the LTx motors. I am getting the GMPP ones, and hopefuly this will help aligne them, as they are off a little. But a little could be a lot at High RPM.

The LT1 has a .050 wider offset than the standard SBC. It could and has caused problems. The GMPP guideplate is the one that seems to work out the best.

I lived this nightmate....COMP PLATES WON'T WORK ON AN LT1! Anyone who tries installing them SHOULD notice right from the start that something doesn't look right.

Are you running Self-Align or Non-Self-Align rocker arms?
