GMMG: LT1 vs LS1

GMMG: LT1 vs LS1
So after getting my cat installed on my car, I decided to go compare with a fellow f-bod owner with the same exhaust, minus the headers plus an LS1.
I'm sure most of the sound clips you have heard are on an LS1, and so I figured I'd throw my comparison and opinions out for you guys.
My car had already been warmed up by the time I met up with him and his wasn't, so at first his car seemed much louder than mine. After only a few minutes his quieted down to about the same volume level as mine and we started comparing.
Plainly put, on an LS1 it sounds good, but LT1's make it sound MUCH better. As most of you know, LS1's have a more hollow sound, whereas the LT1 has a deeper rumble to it.
Hopefully we'll get Mike in here so we can get two points of view.
Anybody who has heard both in person, feel free to post.
Oh and before installing the catalytic it sounded like a raped ape(I think it might be more fitting to say a raped dinosaur) and was loud enough to deafen bystanders on a rev. Now it is much more refined, but yet still loud enough to put a grin on my face

Yeah, your LT1 definitely sounds better with the cat than without it. A little quieter, but much improved sound quality (no rasp).
After our cars were fully-warmed up, they both had about the same volume at idle. Cruising is really noticeable in both cars and WOT just roars/screams.
It is deeper on the LT1, but also a totally different tone than on the LS1. It is rougher sounding on your car and much more refined/smoother on mine. Sounds great on both motors IMO. But remember, I don't have any headers/highflow cats like you yet.
Then we'll see just how they compare. Care to find out how mine sounds from the rear on the road though?! j/k man!
It'll be fun to compare the two cars in the future after we get more mods on them. Maybe we can get this on video or something...
