GM847 + Cutout =
Exhaust "pulsing"/scavenging is the job of header collectors. Not cut-outs. A cut-out is good for nothing more than the exhaust finding a "BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH" path of least resistence.
i would think somethings not right if you gained power with it closed. backpressure is never a good thing.
opening/closing mine i notice a difference in the power curve. When i open it i feel more power up top and less down low, but thats just me

thats how it should be, you lose tq and gain hp.
That's the way my car was before I did the heads/cam to it. I will find out for sure tomorrow when I go to the track.
The car is down on power somewhere and only went 12.7 @ 109 with the cut out open but nothing has changed since then except for the cutout being closed so we'll see what it does.

P.S. I Love my trans!
I ran a 13.02 w/ no exhaust on, 13.200 with cutout open and 13.3s with cutout closed.
Make sure you make runs with similar 60's and on the SAME DAY to prove this theory, as you can see most of us have proven it the opposite way.

Ok guess you know it.I guess I thought the exhaust work as a system to ...well exhaust? I never heard the BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH theory.
