GM stock replacement lifters

How much should I be paying for a set of lifters from a crate LT1 engine that put around 300 miles on them?

Thanks!

...and without having a cam, would it be worth swapping them in for my stock lifters with 92,000 miles on them. I was told that I'd see better gas mileage?

If that motor they are coming out of has been damaged in any way I wouldn't take them.

Sure you could do lifters and springs and bring your motor back to near new condition.

Lifters alone, is pure BS you'd see better gas mileage. My lifters have 185,000 kms on them, and they work fine.

Unless youre lifters are shot, the newer ones wouldnt improve gas mileage any. I would inspect them really well before use, and clean them with a solvent.
I wouldnt pay more than 120$ for used factory lifters. Of course if they are good.

I've seen them and they look to be in prestine condition. So I'm guessing I'd be getting a deal for $25? Along with these he's getting rid of his GM SA 1.6 rockers...$75 for those a good price? Is there anything to check out on rockers before purchasing?

Look for scoring on the roller and check for free movement of all parts. also look for cracks or gouges in the body of the rockers. (and lifters.)

Am I looking for a lot of free movement or no? I don't have any 1st hand experience with either so anything you can advise would be helpful.

As far as looks, I'm just checking for cracks and gouges? Anything else?

You can see external wear marks no problem.

As for testing it, apparently you can't.

This comes from a well known engine builder I know, that builds 8 second cars.

You can fill it up with oil (squirt into the oil hole on the side) and try pushing it with a push rod in the cup. If its still real squishy it may be bad, But you really cant tell until theyre in there and stressed.
A little side to side movement is ok , but excessive is bad.
