GM replaced the oil filter!!??

Has anyone heard or noticed this. I went to autozone and they dont have the AC Delco pf25 , went to the dealership and the parts guy said they replaced it with this other filter. Forgot the part number. It was a good bit smaller. So i went with the AC delco 1218. I hope it works right. Anyone use this one?
Peace
Omar

The PF25 was replaced with the PF454. The PF454 has an anti-drainback valve. The 1218 also has the valve which the 35 lacked.

Filter companies do this to start knocking out old filters, some were bigger then needed. Who makes the AC Delco filters?

Found out last week (after going through the same "Where's the PF25?" hunt that AC Delco replaced the PF 25 with the PF454. It is slightly shorter than the 25, but functionally the same.
