Yeah it's around 155-160. It really all depends on what transmission and gears your car came with from the factory (I'd say). But it's somewhere around 160.

In 1994, car and driver(i think) tested the 95' z28 m6 with 3.42 gears and read a drag limited 156mph in 5th gear. it also depends if you have z rated tires or not, i think verts are limited at somewhere around 100 because of government standards

Hey lantern’s97Z,

I see that you are fairly new to the board, so please don’t take this the wrong way, just to a search. This topic gets discussed about once a week.

6spds are like 150-160 mph..... A4's from the factory cut off at like 110-115mph, but with a little programming the top speed can be raised... thats what i heard

hey zx1216 -im not sure on the convertable issue, i think a 6spd vert will hit 150...how is there anyway to regulate that if the car is gonna be modded or whatnot...

with 4:10's my buddy toped his car out at 135...and got there in no time

A4's don't necessarily cut off at 110. Like zx1216 said it depends on if the car came with the z-rated tire package or not. Cars that came with the z-rated package had a 150 mph speedo and no limiter. Cars that didn't have the package came with a 110 speedo and cut off at like 110 or 115mph, regardless of tranny.

Last week I think we had a good on on this.

6 speed or auto with factory z rated tires is very capable of pegging out your speedo at the 160 mark. Enough to hurt yourself so be careful.

Yes some 2:73 autos did get a 110 speedo with crappy tires. Yes you reprogram these..

Hope this helps

I read one time that the A4's with 3:23 actually had a higher top end (159-161) than the M6's in 5th 157-158. This was back in 96-97.

i think the stock mustangs with 4.6 at 260 hp topped out at about 140-150 somthing like that everywhere u read its different

still slow but i believe they were leaning more toward acceleration and 1/4 mile times than top speed....but the old 5.0 were slow anyways lol

EDIT: is it true that a stock 2003 Mach 1 with the 305 hp can really pull a 1.7 60 foot and a 13.1x 1/4 mile time...i read a review on them and dont believe the numbers i think its bull

also this is a camaro site so im not expecting much answers

The real question is...has anyone ever been to 160 mph in their car? I may be attempting a top speed run soon...any sarcasm limited advice would be helpful.
