GM Performance Hot Cam Kit

I have a 96 Z28 with a stock LT1. Summit offers a GM Performance Hot Cam Kit. It comes with an LT4 cam, roller rockers, and springs. Does anyone know if this kit would be worth it for $550, or is it worth it to even buy a kit? Should I maybe just buy the cam, then a set of roller rockers, a set of beehive springs, some hydraulic lifters, and all of the hardware seperately?

it is a good kit for the price and it comes with everthing you need. As long as you din't have too many minle on the engine. you can reuse your stock lifters if you want or just go with some stock replacements from crane, comp cam, or speed pro.

You can but it piece by piece and buy better valve train parts, but you will pay more cash for them. Like the beehive and pro mag roller rockers. Awesome parts, but it will cost you more $..

If you decide to go with the hot cam kit, it is a little cheaper here http://www.sdpc2000.com/catalog/992/...mshaft-Kit.htm

Ps. summit will price match.

I'm looking to just keep on upgrading paycheck by paycheck. The more power, the better, but it's got to be street driveable. Thanks

I have only 47,000 miles on everything, so it sounds like a good kit, thanks.

I'm pleased with mine. Definitely a good bang for the buck. You will definitely feel the difference in horsepower.

Thats really up to you. You need to decide what you want in terms of performance and drivability. The hotcam kit is cheap but if its not enough power fro you then you may need to piece together your own cam setup.
