Car does NOTHING when I turn the key, need some input.

Ok so this morning around 10 or so I move my car from the court in front of my house and parked it in the driveway. So I leave town for half the day and it had rain a little bit while I was gone but not much. I get in my car at 6:45 pm to go to work and I hop in. Turn my key till the ignition comes on. Now at this point everything in the car was working fuel pump turned on, the shift light on my tach flashed normally, cd player came on. and the light up words on my dash came on. I turn the key to start the car and everything stops and I get this little DING kinda noise right after I turn the key and everything goes off. I puzzled bc I have never had a problem like this before and it started up great the same morning. I think the Security light might stay on after I turn the key and that is the only one that stays on. Thanks a bunch for the input.

If the security light stays on, then you have a VATS issue. Make sure your key and key cylinder is clean and dry or try another key. There have been lots of posts about the VATS in the general tech forum.

Moisture tends to affect electical connections. I don't think it would affect the Vats since its inside but it can cause other starting gremlins. My car would start up everytime on a nice clean day and if it rained it would just get a click when i turned the key. It would eventually start if i tried it enough. I finally got down under the car and cleaned all the connections and now all is good.
