ht383 cam
zz3
zz4
lt1 vette cam
lt4 cam
hot cam
hot cam kit

then what is the next one gm offers?

I think it is fuel, needs more, for detonation you either pull timing or add fuel USUALLY to fix it.
stock fuel system should EASILY handle your car. You have a hotcam with a longer stroke reving to 6000.

People are running 306's to 6700 on ported heads and even using headers

Its too bad that you dont want anything ground, because its going to be awfully dificult to cast a hotcam

its going to have to be machined somewhere , somewhow along the lines

question-
Why are you set of getting a cam from GM?

whats wrong with comp cams

geeze its not like one cam is going to be superior to the other if you get it ground to the same specs

you try getting Ford to put a Vortec motor and 4L60E in their F-150

Just figure out the cam specs you want and order it. Doesn't matter who makes it. I have YET TO HEAR of a cam colapsing or anything

nothing is wrong with comp cams..

I just want a answer to the question asked, not a debate on which is the best cam manufacturer.

OK your getting pissy because you are not getting the answer you want.

No cam is better than the next. They all do different things for different people and different set ups. You cant say that the hot cam is better than the ZZ cam, or that the 847 is better than the hotcam.

Yorkie is little yellow bus special...

There are no steps in cams. They are all a bunch of numbers, hotcam and zz blah blah is just names the manufacturer gives them so people like you will go cool I want a GM cam. If you get a cam get something you want. If it's the hotcam get it, but don't go get a gm cam just because it is a gm cam, that's ridiculous.

Here are the GMPP cams I was looking at when I had an LT1 Caprice.

12370845 - Hydraulic Roller Cam - 214/224 duration - 488/509" lift

12370846 - Hydraulic Roller Cam - 222/230 duration - 509/528" lift

12370847 - Hydraulic Roller Cam - 234/242 duration - 539/558" lift

I wanted a torquey cam due to the weight of the B body. With the 845 cam, Bryan Herters tuning, stock rockers, headers, 4.10s and a 4470lb race weight. The car ran 13.8 on street tires.
