gm 847 good or bad cam??

I was wondering if the gm 847 cam was a good street/strip cam. Would this cam make more power then my lt4 hot cam??? Also how does it sound compared to the hot cam is the 847 allot better sounding??And could you use the 847 on stock heads and a stock engine internal wise?? And how much more power can I make then the hot cam

It's a "high end" cam, starts coming on at 3000 rpm. I have used a similar cam & it really came on at high rpm. But low speed driving was not good at all. Your signature does say what you have, A4 or M6, etc. With a A4 you need at least a 3000 rpm stall.

The 847 will be streetable if tuned well. You'll still get cam surge below 2000rpm I'd say, but it's definitely livable with an M6. With an A4, I wouldn't bother unless you have at least maybe a 2500 stall or so.
