glowing cats

Well as the title says, i have some glowing cats. This is the second set i have put on and in less than 30 days begin to have a nice red glow, i need to know if this is common. The first cats were pypes, now i have the magnaflow/carsound cats that are so popular.
As my signature says i have a 383 lt1, i sometimes wonder if maybe it puts out too much heat for the cats or if the dyno tune i got is too rich and clogging them up. I need to have them to pass the state inspection , also it just sounds better with them on to me. Any help would be great, the car is starting to frustrate me so much, and i would hate to blow a motor or something because of some cats.

What does your a/f ratio look like? and is the rest of your exhaust getting hot as well?

A glowing cat is an indicator of a very lean condition (HOT exhaust). Get the car on a scanner and/or a wide band and see what's going on (WB in front of the cats FYI).

Its not the cats.... replacing them will not solve the problems. Listen to what people suggested and find the source of the problem in the tune or the valve adjustment.
