Girlfriend got down and dirty! Helped me install LCA's

Today all my friends were busy and I had time so I went and bought a jack and jackstands. Well, my and my girlfriend both got under the car to get the LCA's off and put the new BMR ones back on. I have not worked on my car besides removing front swaybar and the install was pretty straight forward. My girlfriend helped hold the bolts while I tightened on untightened the screws. It took us a little under 3 hours, not bad for not having much work time before, some of the bolts were a pain to get off and had to be soaked with wd40. The weather outside is cold so I really can't tell much of a difference yet with the little casual driving I did afterwards.

I will let you know the difference once it warms up outside tommorro which should be in the high 60's to see if it grips that much better. I think I put the grease in right, not sure. I just put the end of the grease gun on top of the metal nipple things and pumped it once, I think that is right no?

Back on topic, what an awsome girlfriend.

Did you preload the suspension when you installed the new ones, and did you torque them to specs?? Just asking. I did mine 2 weeks ago.

O yeah... that is a cool girl.

I didn't torque them down to specs, Do i need to?

I just put the LCA on while on jackstands and put the bolts as tight as I could without putting force into it. Then I set the car down and put the muscle and force into tightening them.

First off....where did you have the jackstands?? On the body I guess. You should have put the jackstands on the body and kept the jack under the pumpkin on the rear. WHen you put the new ones on, you need to jack up the pumpkin to where the body just starts to come off the jackstands. Then the suspension is preloaded and thats when you bolt up the lcas.

second.... yeah you need to torque them down to specs. You don't wanna put too much pressure on the bushings. They do need to move a lil.

I had the jackstands under the body about 4 inces closer to the middle of the car than the LCA's. I did put the jack under the pumpkin like you said while installing the LCA's. I tightened them while on the ground anyways so I would think it would be better that way.
