geyser = blown head gasket?

I just got my new(ish) engine running(fresh bottom end i rebuilt the whole top end) with an electric water pump. the engine overheats real fast and at ~230* on the guage i got a geyser about 1.5-2 feet out of the radiator.

is this definately a blown head gasket? and is a leakdown test the only way to know?

Re: geyser = blown head gasket?

is the WP installed in the housing correctly? i have heard of the propellers being installed backwards reversing the flow.

Re: geyser = blown head gasket?

im sure youve probably checked all the obvious stuff just suggestionsim sure youre right about the wires but i have read on here that someone suggested what i said. maybe they were as new to the EWP as i am. this only happens when the temp gets to 230 and not all the time?

You get to pull the head(s).

Give us some details of your build - maybe we can figure out what went wrong and save you a headache next time around.
