Question Getting Technical: Does OBDII sense the front O2 sensors more often than OBDI?

I need a definate answer if anyone has it. Does OBDII sense the front O2 sensors more often than OBDI on the LT1?

I think OBDII senses them about 5-7 times/second at 2500 rpm. Is OBDI slower?

Thanks,
Dan

obd2 senses every sensor a lot quicker than obd1.

I'm just trying to track the cause of a couple of engine codes that I'm getting:

P1133
P1153

I searched this entire board and the ONLY cars that have had this code are OBDII. I was curious if OBDII is more sensitive to this problem. Looks like it is.

It's for both front O2 sensors having insufficient switching time. I'm hoping that it's just that the sensors are bad. I think the RTV that I used(Permatex Ultracopper) on the header gaskets and collectors maybe fouled them. Maybe it's the Jet-Hot header coating curing/heating.

The sensors are 62k miles, 7 years old.

I'll wait to see if my milage took a dump after the header install. I don't think it's the wiring. I checked the wires closely and they look good.

The sensors are old anyways, so swapping them out is a no brainer.

Yeah, I know. The reason I'm tracking this down is because others with this problem have changed sensors with no change. They still get the code.

I think what I'll do is run the car like it is for about 500 miles and let any coating/RTV get baked off. That way when I change the sensors, they shouldn't foul again.

I think others may have replaced the O2's right after the install, and had them go bad right away again because there was still stuff on the headers that could foul them right away again.

Maybe?

Did you have to extend them for the macs?

Just the drivers side has an extension. Both sides got the code though. I checked the O2 extension and it checked out o.k. on my multimeter.
