yeah, I have the intake manifold and the heads and the timing cover off. I want to plug the actual hole in the block. So you just left the hole open? Isn't that going to have a long term negative effect on the motor? Will letting ALL that extra oil into the timing chain area make a positive or negative difference in the longevity of the motor?

Good posts, please, more opinions.

Well, I think I have it figured out, but one last question. I'm going to put a freeze plug in the timing cover, and obviously in the waterpump housing, but I will have to remove the waterpump driveshaft because of my cloyes true double roller set, right? That's what I was told. It won't clear otherwise. can anyone with a cloyes set and a CSI or meziere please confirm this???

FWIW, I removed the wp drive and did not put a freeze plug on on the block leading to the lifter valley. No problems as of yet.

can you replace the WP DS seal in the timing cover without removing the timing cover?

drivin sidewayz, I'm not 100% sure, but from experience I'd say no. Not safely at least. You have to kind of use a mallet and hammer those seals in, and also hammer 'em out. So my guess is no. Good luck though! Let us know how it goes.
