Getting rid of AIR .......completely

Hey guys ...

how do i get rid of AIR? Yet still retain the same PCM functionality so it'll get readings? I just installed o2 simms after putting in my 94/95-style midlength headers and even with o2 simms I'm getting codes thrown at me. Any help on this would be much appreciated!!!! Emissions time is creeping up, so i wanna get this stuff taken care of.....

thanks!

What are the codes you're getting now?

I don't have the exact codes on me, but I know one is about the AIR pump not getting any readings .... the other is for bank 1 and bank 2 oxygen sensor faliures (i just got new before-cat o2 sensors and i need to put them on). The odd thing is that I've not gotten any EGR codes thrown at me ..... though I believe I've unhooked EGR (the pipe that comes from the back of the passenger side of the engine bay and hooks to the header). I just want to get this stuff taken care of, I just don't know exactly how to go about getting it resolved. Info would be appreciated...

thanks!

Well, if you have to pass emissions, I don't think removing the AIR pump would be a good idea. There was a recall on these pumps so if you haven't done it, I'd recommend calling your local dealership and see if you're eligible. They'll replace it for free.

As for the oxygen sensors, see if it'll go away with the new o2s...

Well you wont be pulling any egr codes if you just removed the pipe to the exhaust manifold and left the valve in place.
