Getting ready to rebuild

ok im getting ready to rebuild the fireturd. all mods are listed in teh sig. im thinking about adding a 100 shot later on. this is why i bought forged pistons. okay i bought the forged speedpros that come in the kit with the rings and all that good stuff. that is the only part of the rotating assembly that i am going to change. i wil have the stock crank and rods re worked. i will be boring it over .030. that and the pistons are the only things changing besides the bearings and all that good stuff. i might do splayed 4 bolt mains. so my question is...will i have to have the rotating assebly balanced if im only changing the pistons? thanks for the help. and im sure the stock crank will handle the n/a hp that ill have plus a 100-150 shot. if im wrong on that please correct me so that i can get a better crank and or rods.

You have to balance it since you changed pistons. I'm sure the forged pistons are a different weight than stockers.

Due to the new forged pistons weight difference, balancing is needed. 4 bolt splayed is not needed but it is not a bad idea. I could not afford it this time around but I will do that when I build the 383 next year. Machine work cost me $1,120.00 today on top of $3,000.00 in parts.

Needs to be balanced as they weigh different - as stated above.
