Getting my tranny replaced, but whats wrong with it?
Well my car's at the dealer now, and apparently not all dealerships have the T-56 repair tools, so they're just gonna replace it and get my warranty company to pay for it.
I'm kinda curious whats wrong with it though, here are the symptoms:
Hard to get into reverse sometimes, with the clutch pushed in, after you put it into reverse and let go of the clutch, it grinds, then you take it out of reverse and put it back in again, and all is fine.
Sometimes it won't downshift into fourth, like its locked out or something, put it back into 5th, then try 4th again, and its fine.
VERY RARELY, but it's happened a few times, it won't go from 2nd into 1st without some elbow grease.
What exactly is wrong with it? I can just call and talk to the dealership, but I don't want them to fix it, a new GM crate tranny sounds good to me.
