Also add gears, throttle body, suspension mods, and weight reduction(bolt offs perhaps). I'd say thats a pretty well rounded list.

I would agree with that. I have done a few things to reduce weight but my times improved dramatically when I concentrated on the launch. The cam is very streetable - especially if the idle is turned up to 900. It won't lope much at all there. I have mine at 725 where it lopes alot! The converter is a bit loose but the lock up works and really helps the streetability. The 4.56 is alot of gear for the street and 26 inch tires but that 4th gear and lock up again make it ok for highway use. You just get used to it I guess. I think I'm at about 3200 @ 70 mph. It's not really daily driver/long highway use friendly. I did go 12.10 @ 112 with a cheap S-10 2600 converter and 3.89 gears. That was a very streetable combo.

I just recently had my car dynoed on a DynoJet, and it put down 330 corrected between 5600 - 6400 through the mufflers. This is a completely stock motor with 104k and a cam, springs, and hydra-rev. That's why I said 320 is enough to go 11's.

A friend of mine has a 2000 WS6 LS1 with a 224/224 Thunder Racing cam with headers, tuning, LS6 intake, and 85mm TB. He laid down 356 hp between 5400 and 6100. His best quarter to date is an 11.98 at 114 with a 1.68 60 ft. If he had my converter and gear, he could probably go 11.50's or better. His gear is only 3.23.
