Well i got my #'s for you guys. I'm pretty damn disapointed. The #'s are 283rwhp and 319rwtq thats with the cutout open. I'm not sure what is wrong with my car. I only gained 2rwhp and 11rwtq with LT's and a cutout. The guy said i'm running way to rich. But i don't know if these #'s are right because the car feels a lot stronger since the header install and i pulled 3 cars on an ls1 trans am from a 15mph roll to 110mph. So i know i should have more power then that. But my a/f was 11.9 at 3200rpm's and gradually went lower till it hit 10.3 at 5500rpm's. At my max hp it was at 11.3 at 4900rpm's and max torque it was at 11.6 at 4100rpm's.

Let me know what you guys think. Something is wrong.

Damn, that sucks. I was hoping it would hit a good bit over 300. I think it will once you get the a/f straightend out, just like I mentioned in my previous post. Also, do you know if you are getting any false knock? That can kill power as well. Kinda strange, when I put the LTs on, my car ran very LEAN. But yeah, there is at LEAST 10 rwhp getting that a/f closer to 13. Can you post a pic?

Well, I was close on the TQ, but off on the HP. That A/F is KILLING you.

You must have gained it all down low.

If everything seems to be working fine, either a dyno tune or maybe a mail order tune will help you out.

Has the car had a chance to run for a little while with the headers on the car? I know some folks cars seem to go through an adjustment period where the PCM kind of re-learns what is going on, and adds some power getting air fuel ratio back where it was before.

I would have thought the numbers would be
higher too. This really has we wondering again
on the headers issue for stock or close to stock
LT1s. Unless you are going to go big on the cam,
or a cam/heads combo, headers may not provide
much of a gain.

Hopefully I will have more data once I install the
Crane 227 and make a dyno run. If I can still make
decent power without headers it will substantiate
my position on headers.

Ok did you go to the same dyno both times? The reason I ask is because dynos tend to differ from place to place. Also by looking at your mods your initial dyno of 281.5 rwhp is awesome for having basically a catback and cold air (Only mods that will affect your hp). I think with a tune your car will run alot better.

No i got dyno'ed at 2 different places. I'll try to get my file so i can post the graph. The headers have only been on the car for 4 days. I know i have an exhaust leak somewhere cuz i can hear the ticking but the guy said it would make the car run lean not rich. With a good tune how much hp do you think i will be able to pick up?

The exhaust leak will make it run RICH.

The O2's sense the extra air in the exhaust, but the MAF didn't sense it coming in, so the PCM adds fuel to try to even out the A/F ratio.

That will help once you get that straightened out. If it's loud enough, it could also be causing knock retard.

either that or your 1st dyno was way off
cuz your numbers were pretty high for no headers!!
leaving your gain now more then what it seems
